A big crowd at the Festival in 2001 after the installation of the monument of the year 2000.A beautiful cultural mix of contemporary art with traditions of stone, contemporary music with accordion tunes and a classical concert in the Church...
We are determined to renovate the old source of the village much older than the fountain, according to Yves the cutting of stones indicates a work of the XVI or the XVII century. We are going to give it a new life with a sculpted arch decorated with a fine Romanesque interlacing and endow it with a slate roof that will be designed by Bébert the cantonnier who also accompanies us from the first stones in the village. He will make the bases of the sculptures and drive the machines to move them.Claude Aurand and François Bourdaris will sculpt frogs . Lionel Schaewzuck a polished pebble, Louis Romain Bard a small turning tower, Sylvie the woman who purifies herself near the Source. Soon a small bench with Serge Veyssière, Jean Pierre Corrèze and Olivier Peyrat will complete this fertile crescent near the source.Claude’s frog will be stolen and found!
Our two accordionists Robert and Claude Jaucent are there near the Source with all the sculptors.
Our meeting took off before the future Biennale de la Pierre in 2003, new members have joined the workshop on Saturday morning. The village comes alive in the courtyard of the Town Hall and the morning café at Roger Tramont.
Claude Aurand y François Bourdaris van a esculpir ranas .

The old concrete fountain that dates from 1929 will give way to the Fountain of Bacchus that sits at the entrance of the square. The idea and the drawing worked by Jacques comes from a story by Christine Dardaud who, having carried out research, discovered that for a whole time the vine was the main culture of the village before the damage of phylloxera at the beginning of the twentieth century.
This idea will unanimously workshop and trainees will combine their efforts to work more than a ton of stone under the precious leadership of Yves Connier. Sylvie sculpts the head of Bacchus ,Jo Hos "his hat", Jean Marie Danaels the salamander, Francois la Ménade who dances, Charles and Camille still teens the moustaches. Olivier, Didier, Thierry and I clear the stone, the round of the tray, the back ,the sides ,the ivy that runs on its sides. We manufacture brass staples to assemble the stone in the garage Tabailloux au Mortier. Milou is put to work with his tractor for a first "dry" assembly the inhabitants are there for the Feast , they applaud this performance: a new fountain carved in a week ,from the granite of the Faucher quarry in Eyrein.
What an atmosphere day and night! All exhausted but happy to have given this fountain to the village and a memorable party.
December 1999 the storm destroys our workshop of the Hort we settle "temporarily" under the yard of the school ...we will stay there 10 years!
Every Saturday the singing of scissors, brooches and corks will resonate in the village.

The Manu wheel is part of this first collective work. The support tripod is cut from the granite recovered at Tulle. François Bourdarias, Jo Hos and Jacques Tramont participated. The wheel used to sharpen the bayonets is transformed into a good table with 5 stones to sit. It is not without evoking the table of silence of a certain Constantin Brancusi, designed before the war to evoke the last meal taken by a young soldier before leaving for the front.
The monument for the year 2000 involves a larger number of workshop members where trainees, its genesis will be longer. The circular base alternates animal motifs where plants have worked Ida Barry, Sylvie Mouly, Jacques Tramont, Sylvie Damon, Alain Régnier,, Julien Gazzola, Eric Bellardie, MichelVilliers, Yves Connier who animates the courses.
The 4 figures of the cube: Sylvie for the summer, Jacques for the spring ,Francois Bourdarias for the fall and Jean Claude Besse for the winter. It was initially necessary to cut the blocks coming from the Vitrac quarry then Faucher before cutting it.
Inside Jacques and Marc Murat will design the brass hunt that will contain the object of the year 2000, a CD Rom with the messages of the inhabitants of Marc la Tour who are locked up there for the third millennium....!
Claude Aurand joined the workshop and will create the CDRom in 2000 as a solar disc to crown the monument.
During all these years of learning for the group the work is done only by hand . We slowly advance stone cutting and sculpture rub shoulders.
Several friends and friends have disappeared today homage to their contribution Jo, Sylvie, Alain, Claude, we have no news of Ida who today would be very old I think. At the beginning of the workshop his sculpture was donated including the worshop.
