Realized in 1999 the fountain of Bacchus will stay one moment of legend in the history of our workshop.
The first confrontation with a public and choices which are going to mark the future of the village.
We do not replace only a worn concrete fountain. We define the ambitious project for Marc la Tour sculptured village:make on the village one collective work of art.
The granite, the stone of the country, is chosen as material of preference against the current contemporary materials.
We decide to work for and with the village " no work will be foreign to those who live on the site " .
Les in August 21st, 22nd and 23rd the goal is reached the inhabitants are there to install the fountain, the way is opened for the walk of the stone and its local themes.
2500 kg of granite, the group is managé by Yves Connier, Sylvie Mouly sculptures the head of Bacchus, François Bourdarias the maenad who dances, Jean Marie Danael the salamander, Jo Hos, Camille Krumenaker, Charles Villiers, Olivier Otero, Jacques Tramont each fusses on his stone working only on the hand.
Why Bacchus? The vineyard was, before phylloxeras, the main culture of the village...
The biennial event of the stone which began as village feast in 1999 became an artistic collective and friendly project which makes its world tour today.

Chronique dominicale N°9 Tomasz Radziewicz Pologne

LE RAIL BRISE, THE BROKEN RAIL , 2007

.The Polish giant Tomasz wrote "welcome" every day with its falling rocks. We were all struck at the same time by his humanity, its strength and its sculptor's great talent, graduated of t fine art school of Gdansk. Our friend Yves Connier nicknamed him "Polish Michel Ange"...
The theme of the rail inspired him this broken and drilled rail installed on the old railroad Tulle to Argentat who stopped one day of 1970.
A small rail on the ground disappears under the foliages; a drilled rail raises to become confused with the trees which go back up inexorably towards the old railroad.
Tomasz sculptured in Poland the very realistic statues of Jean Paul II but also the very contemporary works which always call on to an extreme dexterity. We had the opportunity to be next him, to keep one of its works to Marc La Tour. Can be shall see again him  one day.

chronique dominicale N° 8 Claude Aurand France

L'écolier Claude Aurand  2001 the pupil

Claude Aurand is one of the pioneers of our workshop created to Marc la Tour in 1992. He participated in the biennial events of 1999-2001-2003-2005 leaving to Marc la Tour several sculptures on the walk of the stone and his good mood at the time of the coffee on Saturdays mornings in the house of Roger Tramont.

On the village square all the sculptures enter dialogue with the public place. The pupil is one of the most symbolic with the sculpture of Chrsitoph Traub.
In 1983 the school closes, since the niche of the box in letters is idle where from the idea to replace it by a squatted pupil.
Claude will say " I sculptured him one throws stone in the back ". Hey yes, irony of fate, since a bird was to nest on the back of the pupil.... He gives at us a roguish look and an examiner:
Forgot me to you he seem to say in his niche? Will he hear one day again the shouts of the children in the court? How  many schools so closed in our villages ?

chronique dominicale N° 7 Zoya Lekova Bulgarie

La pierre de la lunade Zoya Lekova, Bulgarie, the stone of Lunade.
2005

Zoya Lekova is a young qualified Bulgarian artist of the School of Fine arts of Sofia.
We met her in the symposium of sculpture of Aubazine where she sculptured with friend Bulgare. Their work is visible in Tulle in front of the aquarécréatif center.

To Marc la Tour the stone of Lunade is installed on the route of this old procession which took place in the summer solstice in numerous villages, heathen procession become Christian, it is still active in Tulle every year for saint Jean.

Zoya wrote about her sculpture " the shadow and the light form not only the world around us but also our being ". The light of the summer crosses the stone of Zoya and you can discover below the village and the garden of Marc la Tour's sculpture.
