Romain fait parti de la jeune génération des artistes burkinabé que nous avons accueilli à Marc la Tour en août 2009. Il faisait très chaud cet été là...Une biennale internationale marquée par la première rencontre pour le jardin de sculpture des cinq continents bien symbolisée par le titre de cette oeuvre et la présence des cinq artistes burkinabé.L'eau, la lumière, la société sont les thèmes abordés par les 5 artistes burkinabé et notre atelier.
Romain sculpte le bois, la pierre, le bronze , le plus souvent il travaille au Centre National d'Artisanat d'Art de Ouagadougou .Un lieu pittoresque au centre de Ouaga où travaillent une centaine d'artistes et d'artisans d'art . Romain a été invité dans divers pays Chine ,Canada, Liban , pays africains...

Ici il nous propose une forme arrondie dans notre granit plus tendre que celui de Laongo. Cette forme singulière pourrait nous faire penser à un instrument de musique africain... Deux visages s'en dégagent ainsi que des signes qui montrent la rencontre avec l'homme où la femme.
Depuis cette première rencontre a donné de nouveaux fruits. Romain est revenu à Marc la Tour pour animer un stage de bronze et notre atelier est allé sculpter avec Romain et ses amis sur le site magique de Laongo au Burkina Faso, nous en reparlerons...

Romain sculptures the wood, the stone, the bronze, most of the time he works on the National Center of Arts and crafts of Ouagadougou.A picturesque place in the center of Ouaga where work hundred artists and of creative craftsmen. Here he proposes us a rounded off shape in our granite more soft than that o Laongo. This form could remind us in an african musical instrument... Two faces get free of it as well as signs which show the meeting with the man where the woman.

Una bienal internacional marcada por el primer encuentro para el jardín de escultura de los cinco continentes bien simbolizado por el título de esta obra y la presencia de los cinco artistas voltense. El agua, la luz, la sociedad son los temas abordados por los 5 artistas voltense y nuestro taller.
Romano esculpe la madera, la piedra, el bronce, la mayoría de las veces trabaja en el Centro Nacional de Artes industriales de Ouagadougou .Un lugar pintoresco en el centro de Ouaga donde trabaja una centena de artistas y de artesanos de arte. Romano ha sido invitado en país diverso China, Canadá, Líbano, países africanos...
Aquí nos propone una forma redondeada en nuestro granito más tender que el de Laongo. Esta forma singular podría hacernos pensar en un instrumento africano de música... Dos caras se libran de eso así como de signos que muestran el encuentro con hombre donde la mujer.
Después este primer encuentro dio nuevas frutas. Romano volvió a Marc la Tour para animar un período de prácticas de bronce y nuestro taller fue a esculpir con Romano y sus amigos sobre el sitio mágico de Laongo en Burkina Faso, volveremos a hablar de eso..
