Réalisée en 1999 la fontaine de Bacchus restera un moment de légende dans l'histoire de notre atelier.
La première confrontation avec un public et des choix qui vont marquer le devenir du village.
Nous ne remplaçons pas uniquement une fontaine en béton usagée.Nous définissons le projet ambitieux pour Marc la Tour village sculpté : faire du village une oeuvre d'art collective.
Le granite, pierre du pays, est choisi comme matériau de prédilection à contre courant des matériaux contemporains.
Nous décidons de travailler pour et avec le village "aucune oeuvre ne sera étrangère à ceux qui vivent sur le site"  .Les 21, 22 et 23 août 1999 l'objectif est atteint les habitants sont là pour installer la fontaine, la voie est ouverte pour la promenade de la pierre et ses thématiques locales.
2500 kg de granite, le groupe est managé par Yves Connier,Sylvie Mouly sculpte la tête de Bacchus,François Bourdarias la ménade qui danse,Jean Marie Danael la salamandre,Jo Hos,Camille Krumenaker,Charles Villiers,Olivier Otero, Jacques Tramont chacun s'affaire sur sa pierre...travaillant uniquement à la main.
Pourquoi Bacchus ? La vigne fut, avant le phylloxéras, la principale culture du village...
La biennale de la pierre qui commença comme fête de village en 1999 est devenue un projet artistique collectif qui fait aujourd'hui son tour du monde.

Realized in 1999 the fountain of Bacchus will stay one moment of legend in the history of our workshop.
The first confrontation with a public and choices which are going to mark the future of the village.
We do not replace only a worn concrete fountain. We define the ambitious project for Marc la Tour sculptured village:make on the village one collective work of art.
The granite, the stone of the country, is chosen as material of preference against the current contemporary materials.
We decide to work for and with the village " no work will be foreign to those who live on the site " .

Les in August 21st, 22nd and 23rd the goal is reached the inhabitants are there to install the fountain, the way is opened for the walk of the stone and its local themes.

Why Bacchus? The vineyard was, before phylloxeras, the main culture of the village...
The biennial event of the stone which began as village feast in 1999 became an artistic collective and friendly project which makes its world tour today.
