Claude Aurand est l'un des pionniers de notre atelier créé à Marc la Tour en 1992. Il a participé aux biennales de 1999-2001-2003-2005 laissant à Marc la Tour plusieurs sculptures sur la promenade de la pierre et sa bonne humeur à l'heure du café le samedi matin chez Roger Tramont.
Sur la place du village toutes les sculptures entrent en dialogue avec l'espace public. L'écolier est l'une des plus emblématiques avec la sculpture de Christop Traub .
En 1983 l'école ferme, la niche de la boite aux lettres est inoccupée d'où l'idée de la remplacer par un écolier accroupi. Claude dira "je lui ai sculpté un lance pierre dans le dos". Eh oui, ironie du sort, depuis un oiseau a été nicher sur le dos de l'écolier....Il nous lance un regard espiègle et interrogateur
" M'avez déjà vous oublié" semble-t-il dire dans sa niche? Entendra-t-il un jour à nouveau les cris des enfants dans la cour ? Combien d'écoles ont ainsi fermé dans nos villages ?
Claude Aurand is one of the pioneers of our workshop created to Marc la Tour in 1992.
